Who can apply

  • Accredited institutions of higher education offering undergraduate STEM educational programs leading to certificates or degrees
  • Institutions must be designated as Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) by the U.S. Department of Education
  • For the Educational Instrumentation track, institutions must meet additional eligibility criteria.
  • Educational Instrumentation applicants must be Primarily Undergraduate Institutions (PUIs) or located in an EPSCoR jurisdiction.

About this grant

The NSF HSI:ELPSE program aims to enhance the quality of undergraduate STEM education and increase recruitment, retention, and graduation rates at Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). It supports projects focused on studying and improving student experiences in STEM courses, degree programs, and academic departments. The solicitation includes tracks for Implementation and Evaluation Projects (IEP) and Educational Instrumentation (EI).
