  • Eligible applicants include state, county, city, township, special district, and tribal governments, public/private higher education institutions, non-profits, for-profit organizations, small businesses, and public housing authorities.
  • Projects must take place within the Chesapeake Bay watershed, and applicants must be non-federal Chesapeake Gateways Network members.
  • Foreign entities and projects outside the United States are excluded.

About this grant

Encourage outdoor recreation and natural, historical, and cultural tourism that expands access to and awareness of the Chesapeake Bay watershed and fosters economic development of communities. NPS Chesapeake Gateways is offering this competitive grant opportunity to strengthen a community's ability to offer or enhance outdoor recreation and heritage tourism. Projects should link outdoor and heritage tourism to economic impact and celebrate gateway communities.
